Title: Cultivating Emotional Resilience: Strengths Based Approach to Managing Mental Wellness

Dr. Taylor will educate participants on the importance of recognizing their inner strengths to cultivate emotional resilience. Given the state of the world; global pandemic, systematic racism, educators and professionals can benefit from finding the power within themselves to realize their aspirations despite the pervasive challenges that arise. Dr. Taylor will be discussing ways in which we can boost our own individual resilience, improve our well-being, and prevent burnout. Focusing on individual well-being and action is simply not enough, leaders in organizations must take responsibility for substantially improving the conditions in which people work. If we boost our individual resilience, then we will have more energy to address organizational and systematic conditions.

Learning Objectives:

  • ·         Participants will learn the four components of resilience and how it is developed.
  • ·         Participants will learn the habits that have the highest leverage in building resilience in educators.
  • ·         Participants will learn techniques to cultivate their emotional resilience and will be encouraged to become more accepting of themselves and others.
